Ah, Home Crap Home ....
Just kidding, and as you will see I left one paradise to see
another. The weather was so bad Saturday morning we
didn't even attempt the walk to the redwood grove. We
decided to travel down the coast to our next stop. This
was to be Trinidad, California. We were going to stay for
two days there. It was raining so bad, that we decided to
drive the motorhome to town before we checked in at the
RV park. The RV park is about 1/2 mile from town ... in
the rain.
When we got to town, all of the shops we used to like to
visit were gone. It was raining very hard, so we decided
to venture toward home via state hwy 299. We could stop
for the night in Redding. It had been quite a while since
we had been that way. We somehow forgot the 20 MPH
turns, and the three summits where it was snowing on each.
I probably don't have to tell you that motorhomes are not
good snow cars, but I will anyway ... THEY ARE NOT. So much
care was taken on these summits and we got to Redding
without a scratch.
The next morning (Sunday) we drove home just behind a
snow storm from the night before. This morning I lit a fire
in the wood stove and things were back to normal, cold but
normal. I went outside a few minutes ago to take a couple
of pictures to show you why being back is being in paradise.
Here is my view across the street. It's like this everywhere.
Here's old betsy in her parked position.
Can you see the smoke coming out of the
stack ? Is this really Spring ?
Global Warming my ASS !
Global Warming my ASS !
Looks like paradise to me,happy you folks made it safely home.
ReplyDeleteI love the Shasta/Trinity area and the Tahoe/Truckee area. They are about the only parts of California that don't remind me of armpits.
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen wisely. :)
What an exciting adventure! ANd, you're by SNOW?
ReplyDeleteIt's 90 and hot & himid here, I'm about to melt.
Have a fun safe trip home, Odie.
Christopher, thank you sir, and yes it's a bit of paradise.
ReplyDeleteInnominatus, I have chosen wisely ... thank you sir.
ReplyDeleteBunni, your weather sounds just awful. I melt when the temperature rises above 75 degrees.
ReplyDeleteOh my girl you read what I wrote too fast ... I am home.
You live in a very beautiful place. I miss the Northwest.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Woody, glad you enjoyed your hols and thanks for the updates.
ReplyDeleteDunno about Paradise, looks like the kind of place where they film low budget "teen" horror movies (:
Supi, that's what vacations are for.
ReplyDeleteBanned, don't write those things when I'm trying to swallow a mouth full of coffee. I think we have had a couple movies made across the street during a couple of Halloween nights.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it home safe & sound.
ReplyDeleteNow you need a vacation after your vacation....hee hee.
Welcome back, Odiekins ;-)
Thank you, Bunnikins !
