#8) Nippers? If this offends anyone they need serious psychiatric help. If you're in the hardware store and see some with black handles, yell, "hey, look at those black nippers."
Now that you mention it, I do recall them being called dikes. I think I even called them that back when I worked in the bowling center (AMF 82-30 machines).
1. Well that's a new one to me. 2. 3. Hahaha! 4. And I still won't use it... 5. That was a lucky shot. And pretty awesome, too. 6. Somehow, I doubt it. 7. Awesome, yes. 8. Probably whenever we want to. 9. Hahahaha!!!! 10. Hehe. Interesting photo. And now that I've read all the comments, I understand the #8 meme. And after a quick look, it seems they have already been renamed as "cutting pliers". Thanks, Odie. You all be safe and God bless.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

ReplyDeleteEdward, At the telephone company we called them "Dikes".

DeleteMy husband always called them that. It was easier for me to remember "cutters".
DeleteUm, usually I get most of the jokes I see, but the side cutter renaming need is really escaping me....

Anon, this was off of the Ma Bell Facebook page. At the telephone company we called them "Dikes".
DeleteIf I had had a hundred years, I would never have come up with that. I consider myself suitably enlightened, sir. Many thanks!

LindaG, #1 hungover?
DeleteI guess that could be what caused it. If so, I have never seen anyone that hung over. :)
DeleteDad always called them side cutters and later I had to learn what dikes pliers were. I read that dikes was shorthand for diagonal cutters.
ReplyDeleteAnon, I did not know that.
DeleteThey are diagonal cutters, hence, dags or dikes
ReplyDeleteAnon, Don't try and spoil our fun. I's likes dikes.
DeleteTook me a few seconds to get "Dikes" too ,,, good one
ReplyDeleteAnon, I should start charging for this useless information.
