As for the H1-B thing, most American kids can barely print their names anymore; forget spelling, grammar, or any kind of math. Get rid of the Commie profs, the union teachers (and the unions), the PC, and Bucketmouth's Education Department.
I know, Musk reacted with a heavy hand, but he's learning this is no techie flame war; this is politics and politics has different rules, but he's right about one thing. Fix H1-B; don't throw it out.
Save that for the FIB, DHS, TSA, HHS, EPA, Commerce, Energy, HUD, Labor, and Transportation. Clean house at Justice and Defense.
To add insult to injury, hiring agencies, the middlemen who facilitate the H1B process, have come under scrutiny for rampant corruption. These shadowy organizations, driven by greed, have been known to engage in visa fraud, human trafficking, and the exploitation of workers—all under the guise of bridging the "skills gap." Yet, these shady practices are met with a mere slap on the wrist, while the real victims—American workers—are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered careers.
The ex was going for her PhD and was writing a paper. They then had to do a peer review of another students paper. She got paired with someone who was there for diversity reasons. That person wrote a PhD paper at the level of someone who was in middle school. Lack of proper citation and grammer use that lacked said diversity. 100 years ago middle schoolers were receiving the education that is comparable to a college education today. They keep dumbing people down, just smart enough to pull the levers, but not smart enough to question authority.
No wonder they bring in foreigners. Try getting someone to work or show up on time. I hear horror stories all the time from people I know who run businesses about hiring someone who shows up late on the first day and then doesn't show up at all. Or works for a few days and then decides to take a few more days off and shows up after that expecting to have a job.
For too long, the H1B program has been a convenient scapegoat for corporations unwilling to invest in the American people. It's time to put an end to this sham that has been perpetrated under the guise of innovation and progress. It's time to prioritize the future of our nation's children over the bottom line of the corporate elite. It's time to stand up and say, "Enough is enough." We will not stand idly by as our talent is exported and our dreams are outsourced.
Immigration attorneys from Cohen & Grigsby explains how they assist employers in running classified ads with the goal of NOT finding any qualified applicants, and the steps they go through to disqualify even the most qualified Americans in order to secure green cards for H-1B workers. Link
I agree with the business narrative. There is a shortage of American workers willing to work for indentured servitude wages.
So according to Ken Cucchenllie corp's laid off 84, 56 people. But only needed 34,414 people to replace them. That that's 50,142 dead weight employees. Can't blame corp. willing to cut the dead weight out.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

ReplyDeleteThrow it out right along with welfare, then see if there's a shortage of Americans who won't work.
DeleteOtto, it was a giant step backwards.
DeleteAnon, BINGO!

Steve Sky, most lawyers need to be tarred and feathered.
DeleteRelated to the Guardian Angels, how long before Death Wish (Charles Bronson's film) becomes a reality again?
ReplyDeleteSteve Sky, too long I'll bet.
DeleteWho cares if Elon bans folks? It’s HIS company. Property rights should be inviolable.
ReplyDeleteBob, I don't care.
DeleteThe h1 kerfuffle is a swamp coordinated attack on DOGE, nothing more. All parties involved have stated the program is being abused and needs reforms.
ReplyDeleteAnon, Don't forget future voters.
