My buddy had the original audio version on an LP. At the end of the song it had John Cleese saying "Now wait a minute. I have quite a few friends who are lumberjacks and only a few of them are transvestites." Fishlaw
Everything they did is comedy gold. The Holy Grail and Life of Brian are my favorites, but the Meaning of Life is very close. I own the entire BBC series and often watch random episodes. It helped that my mom had close friends that were British so I became used to the accent. They would often talk about the group and I would sneak into the living room and watch their shows on PBS at midnight when I was a kid.
I was singing that song one day and my youngest son thought I was making it up. Told him to Google it. He had never heard of Monty Python before. He can almost quote the entire Holy Grail movie.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

I can't listen to that because then it would run in my head 24/7/365 as has happened before a couple of times. Funny as hell but damn.
ReplyDeletePaul V, ah come on, just one time?

ReplyDeleteFishlaw, we have a lot of lumberjacks around here, and I would say there's no more than 20% of them transvestites.
