"How extraordinary their Grandmothers were" -
ReplyDeleteAfter doing some spring-cleaning last month, I came across an 8"x10" picture of my smiling bride of 38 years, when she was in her mid-20s. When my adopted daughter, now 37, saw it, she said "Mom, is that you???"
She had no idea how beautiful her Mom was when she was a young woman.
Elmo, we have the same story in this household.

DeleteWhen I see a photo of a woman who was a teenager or in her 20's ... but is in her 60's+ today, I say, "Wow! You sure were young back then." When you comment on her looks, she gets offended or upset.

DeletePic is late 60s or so. If those are grandmas today, knock off another 25b years and you've got great-grandmas.
Deleteedutcher, I just remember people around me in those days. My father=WWII, My neighborhood Fathers=WWII, and 1965 to 1970 I was 18 to 23 years old. I think bell-bottoms were around from around 1969 to 1974. I'm so confused ... LOL.
