My blog has turned into Spam Central in the comments section.
I'm going to moderate all comments for awhile. Your comments
will still be posted, just not immediately.
I have researched these people, and they are in no way harmless.
Some days I would get up to 20 spam comments. My spam
filter would only stop about 60 percent of them. They won't make
it to the comment section now.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but a Woodsterman has to do what
a Woodsterman has to do.
I don't know what these douchebags hope to accomplish by spamming blogs. I just wish there was a way to figure out exactly where they were coming from..That way we'd know where they live and could go over and ask them out for a coffee or something.
ReplyDeletehjets, it's war!!!
DeleteIt is coffee they would not get, knuckle sammich served hot and ready!
DeleteCederq, Parent's basement?
DeleteI totally understand, Odie. The only other option would be to start a new blog, not much easier.
ReplyDeleteYou all be safe and God bless.
LindaG, that will never happen.
DeleteWorks foe me, Odie. I would do the same. ♥
ReplyDeleteSandee, we rich and famous have to take our lumps.
DeleteYou must be popular to attract that many spammers. I get a couple a month....
ReplyDeletedrjim, Sometimes I wish I were just plain old Wood instead of the one and only Woodsterman.
DeleteOdie, we too over at Bustednuckles are getting spammed out! I wish we could nuke them from orbit, to be sure...
ReplyDeleteThere are other comment platforms (Disqus) we could use, but they would still get through that first time. My "Usual" spammer hit three times last night. One went to spam and two to moderation.
DeleteOdie, you and the Duke.
ReplyDeleteedutcher, and then some.
DeleteIt's a shame you've got to take time to do this, but thank you for your efforts.
ReplyDeleteclayusmcret, the person doing most of the spamming was very vindictive. My readers aren't stupid. I can't imagine any of them clicking on "Her?" link. But yet the bitch persisted.
