DeleteI guess I was in a different Air Force. From 1983 to 2004 when I went TDY I stayed in a hotel only once. That was September of 2001 in Cairo Egypt as advance team setting up for a Brightstar exercise. It went from exercise mission to real world shit show quickly.

tsquared, p-lease ... I was in the Army and in a barracks with fifty other guys in Pleiku. At the Air Force Base the lowest of ranks had private rooms. I can go on ......
DeleteOdie, I've heard that from the Marines, too. I was AF from '73-93' and except for the internet thing, which wasn't a thing then, we were pretty much always in Transient quarters. And when hubby and I were able to go TDY together, we were put in TOQ. So yes, that meme is about right.
