WEATHER BULLETIN
Up here in the Northern part of North Dakota we just recovered from a Historic event --- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 25’ of snow and winds to 50 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10 ' s of thousands.

FYI:
Obama did not come.
FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV.
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor ' s did not blame Obama or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Obama or anyone else either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC did not visit -
or even report on this category 5 snow storm.
Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything either.
No Larry King, No Bill O ' Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Brad Pitts, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
Sent out caravans of SUV 's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn’t ' t ask for a penny.
Local restaurants made food, and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snow bound families..
Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.
We put on an extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for ' sittin at home ' checks.
Even though a Category 5 blizzard of this scale is not usual, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

I hope this gets passed on.
Maybe .....
SOME people will get the message ......
The world does NOT owe you a living.

ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures.
ReplyDeleteRandy-g, That's the way it should be in Our America.
ReplyDeleteSupi, I've seen here like that, and you wouldn't believe how it's taken in stride.
ReplyDeleteWe were prepared out here in my hill country. You knew how hard things could get, and family church and community were all you could depend on---This is still true today.
ReplyDeleteScott, those are who you want to depend on.
ReplyDeleteOdie you should be here when we get snow. It is taken in panic.
ReplyDeleteGreat message and post Odie!
ReplyDeleteUsed to be , no matter the type of bad weather situation when neighbors and communities came together and it usually turned out more like a party while the clean-up was gettin' done.
Supi, I've seen places that aren't used to it. They go completely goofy. Here it is absolutely nothing ... EXCEPT for the tourists that are here constantly. Now that is fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteChristopher, now so many hide and wait for the goberment help in the cities.
ReplyDeleteluv it ..shoveling out even as we speak!..brrr!!!
ReplyDeleteOdie, I've decided I DON'T want you send us any snow now :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a GREAT Post, and the pictures are beautiful.Thank You!
WHT, I just heard on Hannity you have 30" now. A lot of snow isn't fun in a big city.
ReplyDeleteStopsign, too late, I just sent it off yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was that way though all of America. Sadly, we've created an entitlement culture of victims who can't think for themselves and don't give a cr@p about their neighbors -- because the government will 'save them'.
ReplyDeleteWe should ship them to N. Dakota so that the government could find them during the spring thaw.
I'm glad we're not getting this much for a change.
ReplyDeleteIf we have to wait for the gub'mt to help us out, we'll be snowbound forever.
LL, spring thaw works for me.
ReplyDeleteBunni, the gub'mt is coming to the rescue .... someday. That is if you grease some politician's hand.
ReplyDeleteSo much for global warming.
ReplyDeleteLady, stay tuned ... one day it will melt ... then let the Gore games begin.
ReplyDeleteLeading by example. Gotta love the American spirit.
ReplyDeleteLooks quite nippley in all that white stuff.
BTW, I've updated the hooters post 'cause It wouldn't let me include the picture here.

Robot, I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous! Whatever happened to that community spirit in neighborhoods? The government bites!
ReplyDeleteTeresa, community spirit rules !
ReplyDeleteWow, those are amazing photos. Great story of how people pull together as well.
ReplyDeleteGirl, It's the America that we remember.
ReplyDeleteThey can grease their own hands, the wankers ;-)
ReplyDeleteBunni, do you mean you're caught wankin' if you have a greasy hand?
