Sorry, a better analogy than a knight without the ability to move because of their defined limitations would be a pawn with a blindfold who does realize that his/her own moves got them where they are. Sorry, but so long as you have the ability to do a job and earn money, you have the ability to make BETTER CHOICES as to how that money is spent, saved, etc. EVERYONE STARTS OUT POOR. Good choices are what changes that.
I just get annoyed when I see folks play into the belief that the poor have ZERO choices. My grandmother used to send me hand-painted cards made by a woman she knew who was a quadraplegic and who used to paint the cards using a brush held in her mouth. EVEN she did something about her situation. These are NOT victims of their circumstance...they are VICTIMS of their OWN POOR CHOICES.
