Whoohoo! It's Funderwhoopee Friday ~ Sweet Tooth

In the early morning hours of last Sunday, August 17th, Deputies were dispatched to a call for service at the Ice Cream Shop at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe. The deputies could barely believe their eyes as they saw a large bear behind the counter of the shop. With some encouragement, the bear ultimately left, but only after showing interest in the strawberry ice cream. Thankfully, Fuzzy the bear caused barely any property damage and there was barely any cleanup.

Thanks FBers at El Dorado County Sheriffs.

  1. Being an El Dorado County Deputy Sheriff must be an awfully interesting job these days.

  2. Fuzzy the bear's visit might just be the most 'scoop-worthy' event in Tahoe this summer

  3. Security footage shows Fuzzy checking the freezer like a Yelp reviewer: “Great texture, subtle notes of berries, would raid again—four paws up

    1. Otto, I'm glad he was in a good mood, but I guess ice cream does that.

  4. The bear demanded strawberry ice cream and left politely. In South Lake Tahoe, even the burglars have manners and refined taste.

  6. A bear causes less damage than the fights in the ghetto fast food joints. Maybe we should move the bear to the inner cities to teach them how to act.

  7. earlier that day he had a follow-up appt at his GP' who told him that his cholesterol was through the roof.
he said, "F**k it!" and that's how he wound up eating strawbery ice cream at the shop.
    I don't blame him.

  8. The bears in that area are experts on berries since they gorge on local berries in the mountains every Fall. We will have to try the strawberry ice cream there the next time we visit.
There are over 300 black bears in the South Lake Tahoe area and more in the surrounding area. They have little fear of humans because California banned bear hunting years ago.

It feels so good to the suits under the Golden Dome in Sacramento.

This is what one party rule gets you.

  9. They need to put "Fussy was a bear" on their logo which was a nursery rhyme in my long ago time in 1940's.

  10. He just wanted some ice cream. Who can blame him?

  11. A friend in the Tahoe area mentioned that California is actively trying to euthanize (such a polite way to say "hunt down and kill") the bear in question. A group of animal rights activist followed the bear out of town to prevent California from killing the bear.

It's funny how the Democratic Party gets credit for being "friends of the environment" and actively trying to kill the bear at the same time. Also funny how the tree-hugging wing of the Democratic party is actively opposing the authoritarian wing of the Democratic party.

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
