    1. edutcher, I think it started by burning someone in effigy. I've never been able to find out who. Most that I've read it's just an art thing that two guys started in Baker Beach in San Francisco in 1986. It was later moved too Black Rock City, NV and held for 9 days and hosting about 75,000 people.

  2. I went to a customers house who reported his phone was dead. When I found the bullet hole in the phone cable out by the street, I looked thru the hole at his front porch and realized he had been the one to shoot his own phone line

    1. Anon, My first 5 years I worked for Pacific Telephone in Compton, CA. I was in cable maintenance. We had a family that would walk out to their sidewalk and shoot straight up in the air, right through theirs and their neighbor's cable. This went on for years. I asked my boss, "Why don't we bill them?" He said, "We don't make waves with Compton Locals.

So, the last time anyone had to go there was when he and his neighbors were pitching a fit about their service being out. I pulled the guy, who shot the cable, aside and told him why they were out of service. I told him if it keeps happening he might be billed. And whaat would you think if I told your neighbors why their servvice was out. He said, "You'll never have to come here again, and please don't tell my neighbors" That guy was true to his word.

  3. Putting peanut butter on the sqirrel chew repair (so that you know exactly where the next repair will be needed) won''t work on bullets.

  4. I used to belong to a gun club that had high power lines running across the rifle range. Was a regular occurrence to shut the range so powerco could come repair the lines. These lines were on the big towers, so hitting them was no accident. Club put cameras up and started turning video over to powerco for billing purposes. Ended that problem pretty quick.

    1. Anon, it's funny how things change when someone is held responsible.

  5. I repaired many bullet shots in coax cable. if someone was aiming for the cable they would never hit it. just pointing a pistol in the air and have it hit a cable line is crazy.

I worked with Boeing for decades in the Seattle area, much of that time in and out of the factories. Airplane fuselages are usually shipped by train on open flatbed cars. They are metalic green from the protective coating on them. But that cannot protect them from some dumb s*hits shooting at them along the way. How stupid does one have to be to shoot at airplanes, but they do. Occasionally the fuselages arrive with bullet holes in them. Fortunately, a pretty simple repair, but still, stupid really is as stupid does.

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
