A LNG tanker will not explode. Methane/air mixtures are explosive in the range 4% to 13% methane. A ruptured LNG tank would spew out a large bubble of methane that would mix with air only at its surface. It would burn fiercely, but the gas/air mixture would not be explosive.
Go back and look at the Hindenberg phots. No explosion, only surface burning. NASA did a number of studies of what would happen is if a liquified (cryogenic) hydrogen tank ruptured: lots of bad fires, no explosions.
