Here's the motorhome with a generous amount of space next
to it, between the neighbor and me.
I tried a new place this Annual R&R and Goof Fest.
As some of you know I've been going to the GSR
(Grand Sierra Resort) for the last 8 years. I started
going there when they were struggling. They aren't
having that problem now. In fact they've almost priced
themselves out of the "Local Market".
Gold Ranch is my new place.
This new place is right on the border. It has one of
Northern Nevada's nicest RV Parks. It is a small place
with only machines and no gaming tables. I'm an at
"the bar with video poker machines" kind of guy, and
that's about a third of what this place is. I was there
for six nights and enjoyed their great restaurant for
about half the price that GSR charged. They would
even serve me at the bar my $8.99 Prime Rib Dinner.
Anyway, here's some photos of the R&R.
Here's a view of the Casino from the street in front of the motorhome. It's only a few hundred feet to walk there, but
it's close to a half a mile at GSR.
Here's the view from the front of the motorhome.
Here's a view from the bar looking down.
Can you believe I had only one coin in
on that Royal Flush. I won $62.50 instead
of the $1300.72 if I had played 5 coins.
OH WELL!
And here's the scene in the motorhome getting Saturday's
Rule 5 Woodsterman Style ready. Of course it's Beefeater on the rocks.
Wow, Odie. I looked up their rates and can't believe how low they are. Nice place. Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteNow that your secret has been revealed expect Proof to come by an visit you.
ReplyDeleteGin martini is making me thirsty. The Woodsterman den of iniquity looks very warm and relaxing. Like a James Bond villain hideout, almost. Glad you enjoyed it! Salud!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that you found a better place -- but I'm also happy that the GSR is doing better as well. The economy lifts everyone and Reno had some tough times.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, it went by way too quickly.
ReplyDeleteCurmudgeon, I know, I can feel that guy breathing down my neck at times.
ReplyDeleteGrunt, and when I make a Martini they are "Shaken not stirred".
ReplyDeleteLL, when I first started going there the place was empty. Then they start wooing the locals and bringing them in. Then lately they've forgotten who brungem to the dance ... ONWARD!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fine place. Makes me very envious. I may get to go to Florida next year when my old buddy from Arkansas retires. He wants to spend several weeks in the Everglades National Park====taking the fishing gear!
ReplyDeleteOdie, looks like a really nice place you found for some R&R.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. What struck me was that fantastic sky. You don't see that much back east. California is such a beautiful state which makes it even sadder that delusional liberals are destroying life there.
ReplyDeleteRon, somehow I don't think of myself Swamp Fishing, But that's what we "Other People" think of the Everglades.
ReplyDeleteBrig, much more relaxing.
ReplyDeleteDick, only human life.
ReplyDeleteGreat view.
ReplyDeleteedutcher, the gin?
ReplyDeleteActually we go to the brackish waters along the gulf. Great red and snook in that area. Water there is actually quite clear.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely was to rest after all the hard work. I can see why you moved too. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteNice royal flush. Those are hard to come by.
Have a fabulous day Odie. ☺
