A farmer installed CCTV cameras after becoming convinced someone was sneaking into his barn, but instead, he caught his horse doing the unthinkable.

For nearly a week, the farmer woke up to find his barn doors open. At first, he thought he had simply forgotten to close them. Then hay started disappearing. Some mornings, entire piles had been moved around.

Convinced someone was sneaking onto his property at night, the farmer installed cameras around the barn. The first night revealed his intruder. It was his own horse. The footage showed the horse reaching over its stall and working at the barn door latch until it finally opened.

But the horse wasn’t trying to escape. Minutes later, several deer appeared from the darkness and cautiously walked inside. That’s when everything made sense. Winter had just arrived, and temperatures had been dropping below freezing at night.

For days, his horse had apparently been opening the barn and allowing the deer inside, where they could eat some hay and escape the cold.

The farmer thought someone was stealing from him. Turns out, his horse had simply been sharing.

The farmer installed cameras to catch a thief. Instead, he discovered something far more beautiful happening inside his barn every night.
