Funderwhoopee Friday ~ The Rabbit

😅So I woke up and my dog is laying on the back patio covered in dirt with a rabbit in his mouth. The rabbit's not bloody, just dirty. My neighbor's kids raise blue ribbon rabbits. I instantly knew it was one of theirs. 😢

I took the rabbit away from my dog, rushed inside, and washed all the dirt off it before my neighbors could come home. It was stiff but I heard some animals play dead when they are afraid but I couldn't remember which ones. I took it and placed it back in one of the cages in their back yard then I ZOOMED back home. (Don't judge me 😒)

Not 30 minutes later I hear my neighbors screaming so I go out and ask them what's wrong? They tell me their rabbit died three days ago and they buried it but now it's back in the cage.😳

Thanks John

  1. This is hilarious! Reminds me of one dog I had. A real PITA. Heard him nonstop barking a few houses up the street. I quietly walked up through the woods to find him on top of their rabbit cage trying to break in. Fortunately they weren’t home and I got the dog and snuck (is that a word?) quietly back home.

  3. One time the Ex snuck up on a half grown wild cottontail in the back yard and picked it up. It apparently had a heart attack and died in her arms. The kids were screaming "bunny killer". I took it and buried it about 18 inches deep on the back of the property and the next morning it looked like someone used a precise post hole digger to dig it up. I suspect the neighborhood coyotes of which there are many. I guess I should have jus thrown it out there. Less trouble for everyone.

    1. The truth of the matter is that the heartlessness she displayed in that incident was an example of what led to the divorce. That was a wild rabbit in our yard doing no harm to anyone but she felt the need to go grab it. She didn't even care when it died. I've been a hunter all my life but I don't kill for selfies to post on facebook which is what she wanted. I apologize for the rant.
