Unfortunately, I know a few who own electric cars. They bought them because they believe they are "important" people and driving one shows everyone how environmentally conscious they are. True story, one person cancelled a lunch appointment because it was too stormy, but the fear is batteries getting wet and your car catching on fire. Do not park close to charging stations!
You say that as a joke but one time I pulled up the floorboards of a King Air 90 in flight to adjust the voltage regulators to get the generators to match up. I don't recommend working on airplanes in flight but sometimes you do what you gotta do.
I don't like to clutter up your post with a long comment but:
President Joe Biden has announced the strictest regulation on vehicle exhaust emissions ever introduced in the US in a bid to accelerate the auto industry's shift to electric cars.
It includes a target for 56% of all new US vehicles sold to be electric by 2032 - a huge increase from current levels.
I doubt the grid can take that many EVs charging every night or every other night. Plus, if I have a half a tank of gas I know how far I can go whether I use the A/C, Heat, Radio or whatever - with an EV that cuts your range dramatically. If you live in a colder climate (like me) and EV isn't practical.
1. Good chuckle 2. Haha 3. Maddeningly true 4. .... 5. That last part. And the cheating, of course. Though that should have been included on #3. 6. We just have to hope the label has to be there. 7. ... 8. True. 9. And so much more than just that. 10. Of course it is. You just have to decide how much gas you can afford for the price of an electric car. Presuming they let the refineries stay in business. Thank you, Odie. You all be safe and God bless.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
