    2. That's the way I remember it. Iodine was the killer, not mercurochrome.

  2. I had merthiolate daubed in every scratch I got in the 50's. I don't know hot iodine or mercurochrome

  3. (Hit the wrong button) Anyway, damned stuff was fire, and I looked it up on wiki and it was loaded with mercury. How did we survive? But once it quit burning there wasn't any pain from cuts.

    1. Col. Angus, pesky button. I remember Merthiolate, but never had any.

  4. I remember every kid in the neighborbood being painted up with that stuff. Of course we were always playing football or roughhousing some way or another. I remember one time we found a bunch of long bamboo poles and started jousting in a cul-de-sac on our bicycles trying to knock each other down. We thought it was hilarious. More mecurochrome coming up!

  5. Iodine, merthiolate, mecurochrome, how did we ever survive? Really glad you found that last one, Odie. Gave me a chuckle. :-)
You all be safe and God bless.

  6. I recall I'd rather do mecurochrome than iodine.

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
