After 'graduating' from boot camp in 1967 in Amarillo, Texas I had a week off. With a few other guys, I walked to town (not a safe thing - the local guys called us 'flyboys' and tossed empty beer bottles at us as they drove by; otoh we called them 'goat ropers' and 'dated' their wimmin when we could) - anyway, we found a steakhouse and good lord - for $1.65 we got a t-bone that filled our plate and in fact hung over it a bit, a large baked tater on a little side dish, and probably some damn vegetable. Iced tea, naturally. OMG that meal was great. Last week wifey and I celebrated our 51st anniversary, so we bought a couple of New York strips at the local butchery. $27.00. Took them home, did the BBQ, and they were great. Did I mention $27.00? Let's go, Brandon....
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

The T-bone made me laugh and cry just a little at the same time.
