  2. I remember in the early 1970s my dad bringing home a calculator from work. I remember him commenting that it cost a small fortune.

  3. When it came out, the Bowmar Brain cost nearly $1000 (that was in the mid 70s. Today companies GIVE AWAY FREE calculators that can do WAY MORE than the Brain did. Government kept its nose OUT of that market...and progress and increased value happened.

  5. The Texas Instruments (TI) calculator was first introduced in 1972 with the TI-2500 Datamath, which was priced at $149.95. This calculator was the first handheld electronic calculator from TI and marked the company's entry into the electronic calculator market. I was making $14,000 per year at my first job out of college. My house payment was $128 per month. My house cost me $22,500. The TI2500 was way out of my reach.

  6. In 1984 my boss bought me a HP 12C. I still have and used it today. When I was auditing people would loose theirs in files. Gentlemen mentioned the problem to his dad and he made wooden stands for $20. Same battery in it. That 41 years of service. I guess if it makes it to 50 years I should write HP.

  7. Have an HP 15C that I bought in 1986. Still use it occasionally. The new guys can't figure out how to use it. Told them to Google "Reverse Polish Notation", they thought I was bullshitting them.
Seem to recall it costing nearly $200.00 back then, big expense for an E5.

  8. Interesting Fact:
The bottom of Lake Tahoe is lower in elevation than Cason City just east of the lake.

  9. Still has the original leather case. No one will steal it, as they can't figure out how to use it

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
