I worked on the NJ turnpike at a Cities Service gas station from '63 to '65. Every car that came in got the oil checked, fan belts checked, tires looked at and windshield washed. EVERY CAR! I could tell you stories. Got a dollar tip from Alan King for filling up his Rolls.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

B.S. in V.C. It ws the 70's here.

Delete#6) I remember that too. But, the sign is confusing - Get more gas per gallon. One gallon is one gallon.
ReplyDeleteEdward, ah-ha! If you get out your magnifying glass you will see the words at the bottom, "No Lead". Ah-ha, more room for gas. LOL!
DeleteYes, that's it. And I'm old enough to have a magnifying glass. We have more than one magnifying glass.
DeleteEdward, need them magnifiers.
DeleteApparently, Amoco used the imperial gallon which is 20% more than a US gallon.
ReplyDeleteEdward, well there you go.
DeleteI'm that old, too.
ReplyDeleteedutcher, I feel your pain.
