LITTLE RALPHY ON MATH (Part 2)
Little RALPHY returns from school and says he got an F in arithmetic.
'Why?' asks the father?
'The teacher asked 'How much is 2x3,'' I said '6', replies RALPHY.
'But that's right!' says his dad.
'Yeah, but then she asked me 'How much is 3x2?''
'What's the fucking difference?' asks the father.
'That's what I said!'

I can remember thinking something similar about some of the math word problems we were given.
ReplyDeleteThe bee and train one is firmly planted in my head. Something about a bee flying back and forth between two trains going a certain speed toward each other on the same track. WTF?? The trains colliding was more important to me than the speed they were going. And the damn bee was going to get squashed as a bonus.
Thankfully I never said it out loud.
I think that's what I would have said.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahahahahahahaha. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day Odie. ☺
LOL! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf the teacher were following Common Core standards, Ralphy would be fine. After all, the new idea isn't to get the correct answer, it's to understand the principles behind the math.
ReplyDeleteIf a train leaves Topeka going east at 40 mph and another leaves Cincinnati heading west at 50 mph and the engineer's name is Murphy, who's buried in Grant's Tomb?
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, bee?
ReplyDeleteLL, a bar of soap for you young man.
ReplyDeleteSandee, I knew you would.
ReplyDelete2T2, well of course, that's why you come here.
ReplyDeleteEuripides, yes or yes? or yes!
ReplyDeleteEdutcher, Yes!
ReplyDeleteThe correct answer is yes.

ReplyDeleteUse to teach math---would have taken him out in the hall, but no "F". Been feeling poorly the last two days, but somewhat better this evening.
ReplyDeleteEuripides, yes?
