    1- It took a long time and sacrifice to pay off our home , yet the Government still insists we are their slaves and they still own us lock, stock and barrel
    2- I would think Ticktock would have made taking down Flock cameras to be a popular challenge by now
    10- That should be add to the poem "The New Colossus" at the base of the Statue of Liberty

    Property tax is based on "unrealized gains". Lets say you buy your house at $132,000 30 yrs ago. You have paid it off so mortgage is zero. Town comes in and "assesses" it $500,000. You pay taxes based on $500,000 but you have not gained $368,000 because house is not sold.
    Property tax should be based on last sold price.
    #3: just as bad as Roberts.

      mer, that's why we have Prop. 13 in California. The value can only go up 1% a year, but the dems are trying to get rid of that.

    I hate property tax too.

    I'm a senior and I can afford it but surely there has to be a better way to raise money for public services.

    But why should seniors be exempted? Especially, why should seniors who made lots of money during their working years and pissed it all away?
