DeleteThe diaper one is off a bit. The giant 140 pack of Pampers is $48, which is about 35¢ each. So some markup over retail but not extreme. OTOH why should state pay retail when buying them by the freight car full? Or give the company a tax break and get them for production cost?

Trump said that he was going to have an infrastructure targeting spree. Remember when he threatened to destroy all their bridges, power generation and desalinization infrastructure? And yet all those facilities are still there and the strait of Hormuz remains closed.
Remember when Trump said that Iran had agreed to all his terms, surrendered unconditionally and committed not to ever close the strait again? It took Iran all of 1 day to prove Trump was lying.
Now we canceled attacks because Qatar told us not to shoot.
You can keep believing Trump is playing 17D chess or open your eyes and realize YOU are poorer that a year ago and YOU are paying through the nose for gas while Trump sinks us in a new middle east quagmire he promised not to do!
I'm not a liberal. I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2024 and didn't vote in 2020. I don't own a red hat.
I suggest you take your red hat off and start facing reality. It is not about voting for Nancy Pelosi or Obama. It is about realizing that Trump screwed us over and is doing NOTHING to make things better for any of us while he plays global leader in a game that is clearly going well over his head.

DeleteTaiwan won't make it till the end of Trump's term. When Taiwan falls in Chinese hands we wont be able to manufacture 90% of what we build (civilian or military) without Chines authorization. We rely on Taiwan for all our semiconductors and 99% of our chip needs.
You want laser guided weapons? You will need China's authorization. Want a new Tomahawk missile? You will need China's authorization for that too. Want a heated seat in your truck? You better ask China if you can have that too.
We spent a significant portion of our missile and smart bomb arsenal hitting Iran. China knows this too.
When they grab Taiwan Trump will do nothing for several reasons. 1, he is weak and Xi knows it. Trump went all the way to Beijing to act tough and instead acted like a bitch praising Xi, how strong he was, how tall he was, etc. 2, We don't have the hardware to hit back, we used then in Iran to achieve nothing. 3, Our dependance on China is too big. China holds $800 billion of our debt. They offload all that debt at once and many others will follow offloading their debt holdings and our economy collapses in days.
Trump is not playing 3D chess. Xi, Netanyahu, Carnie, Putin and others are. Trump is eating the crayons they gave him to color his menu.
Sorry Mr. Marbles, once again you see a snapshot and think you are the master of the game. It's clear you obviously don't understand China's weakness. Without freedom of the seas (guaranteed by the USA), China starves and collapses to pre-industrial status. There are only two choke points to close and China exits the world stage.

DeleteSince World War II, the US has guarenteed freedom of the seas. This was part of our deal towards fighting Sovietism. What the US got out of the deal expired when the wall came down in the 90s. Since then, we've slowly been pulling away. China is the biggest beneficiary of that policy.
