  2. Kid waited 221 days to hug his mom? That's a disgrace. This "women in uniform" is ridiculous and insane.

    1. Brother John, are you with that group that demonstrates at military funerals? I almost sent your comment to the spam folder. I wouldn't expect you to know this, but when you're in the military you do what and go where you are told!

    2. No sir, I am not among such groups. Obviously one does as one is ordered when one is in the military, and if you feel you have to point this out to me, then you have missed my point. Women -- ESPECIALLY mothers -- need to be raising their children, not running around playing GI Jane. I respect the desire to serve, such as it is, but I can't believe I should have to point out on a site such as this that filling the ranks with women is the furthest thing from helpful -- and that's being diplomatic about it.

    3. Brother John, I do not like women in combat, but that being said you and I don't know her circumstances. So, this Vietnam Vet will salute her and thank her for a job well done.

  3. #1 I got back from Iraq a week early, just in time to rent a car and go to the State Championship Wrestling match my son was competing in as a Junior. I had been in uniform for 30 hours and I explained to the ticket taker I didn't have a ticket as I came back early and my son was competing. They let me in and I watched him wrestle 3 matches that he won cinching champion for his weight class. When he got his medal he said that this championship was for me as I was deployed in Iraq. I had been escorted up behind him as he said that. When he turned and saw me he bolted and gave me a bear hug. The stadium went wild with clapping and cheers. It took 10 minutes for the place to calm down.

To Brother John, I will think of you when I flush the toilet after my next bowl movement.

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
