Fun fact: Back in the 30s, Bette Davis was all set to marry Franchot Tone (a classmate of my dad's at Cornell) when Joan Crawford stole him by greeting him naked after inviting him over to her place to go over a script. Bette Davis never forgave her and, while making Baby Jane in the 60s, took advantage of a scene in the script where she beats Joan mercilessly to get even.

    Joan Crawford was so firghtened of her, that, when Warners wanted to use them both for Sweet Charlotte, where Bette kills her rival at the end, Joan refused.

    That's why the other lead is Bette's old pal, Olivia de Havilland.
