In WWII, an artist named Tom Lea did a drawing of a Marine on Peleliu shredded by a shellburst, but still able to walk.

DeleteRIP, Marines and Sailor. My uncle Jack survived Peleliu and Okinawa. He had a family and died around 84. These men and women will never have that privilege.
