re: releasing criminals to prevent them from being collected by ICE. The judge wouldn't have that option if the prosecutors were doing their jobs, and the voters (at least where I've lived) are responsible for electing the district attorney. There's more than enough blame to go around.
OK, yes to 1, that soldier isn't afraid - he refuses to, and, last I looked, judges can be removed from office - it's called malfeasance, misfeasance, and nonfeasance; what really needs to happen is to destroy the political machines that put them there.
