Let me remind you that there is a 25% tariff on beef right now.

Tariffs are a TAX on consumers. We pay the tax every time we shop

DeleteThere are NO 100% blue states. There are NO 100% red states. There are people who vote in support of freedom, liberty, small government, sound foreign policy, etc. Unfortunately Republicans and Democrats in their states vote for the opposite. But even in the context of red and blue, being outnumbered or out-cheated doesn't mean you supported the winner or their policies. And beef from Argentina that was rejected by China because of high antibiotic and hormone levels, sold at artificially low prices in the US, is the VERY OPPOSITE of what American beef farmers or consumers need.

DeleteThe $150 Billion to care for illegals is becoming peanuts compared to the incremental $ that you and I are putting in oil companies pockets since the beginning of the Iran war.
ReplyDeleteIn the first quarter they made over $100 billion in windfall revenue. In Q2 they are projected to get even more than that (remember that the war started in February).
At this rate we will fork over $500 billion into the coffers of oil companies in the US just because gas went up not to mention that this is ON TOP of the $ that the government already takes in taxes

DeleteGround Beef at 25% less? That breaks it into the $3 range. I have not seen the wildly high foods. The local veggies, fruit, nuts, and proteins available ar cheaper than national averages.
ReplyDeleteI had store bought $9 a pound tenderloin for lunch today. That is over $5 less than the national average.
Tsquared, don't say where that is. Then the prices will go up.
