I live south of Ashville, NC. The churches were awesome. FEMA, not so much.
One of the churches had been criticized in the past for owning a plane and a helicopter. But that was how if ferried in supplies. They had a massive support system handing out food, water, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other life necessities.
My son's coworker has an Airbnb. Some line workers from out of state were staying in a FEMA set up when they got disgusted with it enough that they looked on Airbnb. Within 24 hours of them moving in, power was restored (was supposed to be a week away). House them and you move to the front of the line. They also. Paid twice the going rate.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
