Other Rule 5 ers:
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

While growing up, "Country & Western" music was for trailer park trash and cowboys. But when I grew older and finally pulled my head out of my butt, I realized that it was good American music. With regard to Faith Hall... I am not up to speed on her but she sure is "healthy" looking. And that song really belongs to Mick Jagger and the Stones...but pretty girls always get a pass with me.
ReplyDeleteJohn, in 1980 I moved to a country western town from Los Angeles and I embraced the music.
DeleteAfter writing my first comment about the Rolling Stones, I realized that the song was a Janice Joplin classic. Sorry for my confusion!!!
ReplyDeleteFaith had never heard Joplin's version and when they found that out they didn't want her to so she would make her version her own style. Same words different take. Like Cash singing Hurt.
DeleteJohn, I believe a lot of people preformed this song. Faith Hill is preforming it here because I've been in love with her for 40 years and she looks SO good in this video.
DeleteAnon, thank you for that added information.
DeleteI couldn't even get through the intro before I knew I had no interest in it and that it wasn't going to even equal Pearl and her band.
ReplyDeleteJeff/url, sorry you feel that way. But you see this is a Rule 5 post and she was picked for her uncanny beauty.
DeleteOops. My apologies for not staying with the theme, Mr. Odie. I'll try to pay better attention from now on. Mrs. Hill has a nice voice. And, she is definitely beautiful, which a woman better be if she's going to go far in country music. Just ask K. D. Lang.
Deletejeff/URL, you're joking, right?
DeleteI'm sincere.
DeleteOdie, love your blog. It's ok for you to be in love with Faith Hill I guess. Me, I'm not a fan. Anyway, if you insist on including her lame version, the least you could have done was include Janis Joplin's version or, better yet, Erma Franklin's original from 1967. Hill's version isn't even a close third.
ReplyDeleteAnon, look up, yeah up at the post title. Yeah right there where it says "Rule 5". (I'll post that rule next Saturday.) THIS IS MY BLOG and I posted Faith because of her beauty ... nothing more.
DeleteTell his ass Odie!
ReplyDeleteAnon, thanks for noticing, I come here for fun. Everyone is a critic these days.
