Suggest we not cut their pay - Jason Chaffetz was a good one, and quit because the pay wasn't enough to maintain the two households required of a Congressman.
Elected compensation is not a cost saving of any importance. But failure to attract people willing to work only in our interests has already cost us almost everything. That was supposed to be one of the advantages of Trump - to rich to care about the normal bribes.
Doubt we'll see impeachments. And I don't want us to have to 'bug hunt' for the crooks. Term limits (another thing that won't happen) would turn them all put regularly, limiting the influence peddling.
At this point I don't expect any reforms until after the crash.
Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.

Like the one about 5000 page bills.
ReplyDeleteBut lets also slip in a 50% pay cut, and end to retirement for all elected officials,
Deleteedutcher, it would be sweet.
Deletestine2469, some earn the pay, but I'm with you on retirement.

Ozborn, Start impeaching the ones on the take and we would both be happy.

I looked this up once before. The only problem with impeaching them, is it is like their pay. They have to vote for it.
DeleteOzborn, I'm all for term limits. I would like to see 12 years. That would be both Houses or a combination of both for 12 years total.
DeleteLindaG, good point.
DeleteYou all be safe and God bless.
ReplyDeleteLindaG, and there's that ... You too!
