A Personal Dedication This Day ...

Growing, I had a best friend who's life was cut short
while serving in Vietnam. Today, Woodsterman,
dedicates this page to him. From age 11 to the time
Vietnam separated us, you never saw one of us
without the other.

At the time of his death, I was in advanced training
at Fort Ord, California. My sister called to inform me
of his death and passed on a request from his parents
that I be a pallbearer at his funeral. I did so proudly
in uniform.

During my own time in Vietnam, there was not a day
I didn't think of him. We also had some wild
conversations during that year.

Below is his information obtained from the Vietnam
Veterans Memorial Wall - Virtual Wall. This site is
dedicated to the Memorial in Washington DC. You
can visit this site if you are unable to go the real one in person.

Click the photos to enlarge.

Above are photos I made of Bill's Page at
the Virtual Wall. If you want to see the real
thing and can't make it to Washington, this
is a must see. Below is a link to the Virtual
Wall and one to Bill's Page.

For Our Troops, Past And Present, We Remember This Day

I know yesterday, May 30th was the real Memorial Day,
but it is now observed this day ... the last Monday in May.
I dedicate this to you, my heroes !

At The Bar ...

Having already downed a few power drinks, she turns around, faces him, looks him straight in the eye and says,
"Listen here good looking, I screw anybody, anytime, anywhere, your place, my place, in the car, front door, back door, on the ground, standing up, sitting down, naked or with clothes on; it doesn't matter to me. I just love it!"

Eyes now wide with interest, he responds, "No kidding. I'm in Congress, too. What state are you from?"

Thanks Dan

From Your Loving Wife ...

To my darling  husband,

Before you return from your business trip,
I just want to let you know about the small accident
I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the
driveway.

Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt,
so please don't worry too much about me.

I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned
into the driveway, I accidentally pushed down on
the accelerator instead of the brake.

The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up
fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into
your car.

I am really sorry, but  I know with your
kind-hearted personality you will forgive me.
You know how much I love you and care for you
my sweetheart.

I am enclosing a picture for you.

I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.

Your loving wife.

Who needs a limo?
Superior Support.  What if one of those things breaks loose and hits the minister? Daddy must be proud.
After his engagement, he figured he would be captured overseas and never be back. He just doesn't look as happy
as she does.
And my thanks and Hat/Tip to:

Woodsterman Takes A Vacation ... Final

Ah, Home Crap Home ....

Just kidding, and as you will see I left one paradise to see
another. The weather was so bad Saturday morning we
didn't even attempt the walk to the redwood grove. We
decided to travel down the coast to our next stop. This
was to be Trinidad, California. We were going to stay for
two days there. It was raining so bad, that we decided to
drive the motorhome to town before we checked in at the
RV park. The RV park is about 1/2 mile from town ... in
the rain.

When we got to town, all of the shops we used to like to
visit were gone. It was raining very hard, so we decided
to venture toward home via state hwy 299. We could stop
for the night in Redding. It had been quite a while since
we had been that way. We somehow forgot the 20 MPH
turns, and the three summits where it was snowing on each.
I probably don't have to tell you that motorhomes are not
good snow cars, but I will anyway ... THEY ARE NOT. So much
care was taken on these summits and we got to Redding
without a scratch.

The next morning (Sunday) we drove home just behind a
snow storm from the night before. This morning I lit a fire
in the wood stove and things were back to normal, cold but
normal. I went outside a few minutes ago to take a couple
of pictures to show you why being back is being in paradise.
Here is my view across the street. It's like this everywhere.
Here's old betsy in her parked position.
Can you see the smoke coming out of the
stack ? Is this really Spring ?

Woodsterman Is One Year Old Today !

Today is Woodsterman's first year anniversary as a Blog !

Woodsterman Takes A Vacation ... Part 8

We're back in California. The name of the town we're in is called Hiouchi. It's next to Jedediah Smith State Park. We'll be walking there tomorrow to see the redwood grove there. Across the road from the RV park is a redwood burl place. I always go in there every time we're here. I usually buy some redwood or maple burl, but I held off this time. I have a large inventory at home. "Dust'n Lint" doesn't need to spend more money at this time.

The last shot of the Oregon coast as we were leaving.
The entrance the burl store.
Some of their own handy work.
A "small" stack of burl slabs.
The inside of their store where they sell their own work.

Woodsterman Takes A Vacation ... Part 7

Here are some more pictures of the same beach at our RV park at Charleston. We'll be driving down to California tomorrow just north east of Crescent City in the Redwoods.
This is a much better shot of the one I took yesterday.
This is what we see when we come off of the trail onto
the beach and looking left. Can you see there is another
cove beyond the outcropping ?
And here it is ... and the next three photos.
Looking out from the cove.
Looking from the far side back.
This cave we found on the south side of the cove. I went into it
very short way. I could see that it went more than 100 feet in.
I didn't venture but a few feet in. This was a complete surprise.
