DeleteIran's navy existed for one reason and one reason only. To close the strait of Hormuz. What good is it to us to sink all of their ships if the can still close the strait of Hormuz?
ReplyDeleteThis is one more example of the difference between tactical objectives and strategic objectives.
Throughout this conflict we have been focused on tactical wins (boats sunken, missiles destroyed, airplanes damaged) while Iranians have always been focused on their strategic objectives (regime survival, cause pain to the global economy).
That strategic thinking difference explains why although we have a much stronger military it is us that are desperate for a way out while they are happy to keep the strait closed with 3 guys and a mule.
