  1. The bucket one brings back memories. When I was a wee girl there was an empty lot a block from our house. It was on a rise and all the kids called it Sandy Hill. We built forts and trenches - you name it. Lo and behold someone bought it and started to build a house. Noooooooooooooo That was our Sandy Hill.

Since the house was being built on our Sandy Hill, the house became ours, too. I was way too short to climb up on the newly built roof, so the the guys would stick me the tar bucket on a pulley and haul me up. When I reached the top they'd kick the bucket and when it swung over the roof I would jump out. One day, with only one foot in the bucket, when I went to jump out my foot stuck in the tar and I went splat on the roof and was almost swept away. The boys all pounced on me and saved my life.

  4. As the Duke observed, "Life is tough. If you're stupid, life is tougher".

  6. Adrienne, I was going to use the term "Tar Baby", but I'm told that is offensive, so I won't use the term "Tar Baby".

Put it here ... I can't wait to read it. I have the Captcha turned OFF but blogger insists it be there. You should be able to bypass it.
